SoUL Made
Two-day Multi-themed Festival of Art & Mental Health

The Pan-Hellenic Association for Psycho-social Rehabilitation and Vocational Reintegration (PEPSAEE) is a non-profit scientific association that has been active since 1997 in the field of psychosocial rehabilitation and the social and vocational reintegration of individuals with psychosocial difficulties.

The Specialized Day Center of P.E.P.S.A.E.E., “Center for Social Dialogue,” is organizing the first Two-day Multi-themed Festival of Art & Mental Health “SoUL Made”, primarily funded by the Ministry of Culture, as part of the action “Creative Greece 2024: Strengthening Multi-themed Festivals across Greece.” It also serves as a broad initiative for Community Education and Awareness.

The festival includes a visual arts exhibition, experiential contemporary dance workshops, a physical theater performance, an improvisation workshop, dance performances by artists with and without disabilities, three masterclasses, and a contemporary music concert.

Pre-festival activities: On Friday, November 1st, 2024 (11:00 AM – 2:00 PM), workshops on Theater Education, Rhythm & Voice, Bollywood Dance, and Percussion will be held by members and employees of P.E.P.S.A.E.E. for the students of the Public and Community Health Department at the University of West Attica.

The SoUL Made Festival aims to become an annual meeting ground for collaboration and the promotion of contemporary artistic trends, providing a space for the gathering of all social groups by utilizing different art forms such as theater, music, dance, and visual arts.
The philosophy of the SoUL Made Festival highlights the positive impact of art on mental health and the crucial role it can play in fostering acceptance of diversity.

The innovation of the SoUL Made Festival lies in its encouragement of inclusion, active participation, and the collaboration and coexistence of socially vulnerable groups in artistic creation alongside artists, students from art schools, and individuals from the community.
We invite all our fellow citizens, mental health professionals, professional and amateur artists, mental health service users, and individuals from all socially vulnerable groups to come together, collaborate, share roles and experiences, broaden horizons with new stimuli, and co-create a new understanding of mental health and art.

Participation in the workshops and entry to the performances and concert are free, but reservation of a spot is required.

ECOPHILIA NOW

Alt text

PartSuspended Artist Collective opens the 1st edition of ECOPHILIA NOW festival in the unique space of PLYFA for 2 days, 19-20 October 2024.

The ECOPHILIA NOW festival brings together over 20 diverse participants, including performers, musicians, choreographers, visual artists, activists, environmentalists, and poets from across Europe. With representatives from countries such as Greece, Hungary, Spain, Italy, Belgium, France, Romania, Ukraine and Denmark, the festival is international in scope.

The festival’s concept of “ecophilia” — a deep love for Earth and nature as a shared home for all beings — invites participants to nurture their connection with the environment. This focus on “philia” (friendship) with nature is a call to embrace a more caring, sustainable, and mindful approach to how we interact with the environment.

Through a rich variety of artistic expressions, such as performances, audio-visual media, music, and visual art, as well as engaging talks and creative workshops, ECOPHILIA NOW looks for feminist and inclusive practices and how these can open new ways of thinking about a more environmentally conscious and socially just world.

Join us to explore together new possibilities of making art and thinking about the environment, and share the joy of being together!

AGORAFOVIKO FESTIVAL 2024

Alt text

Once a year the circuit breaks down and in September 2024 the Agoraphobic Festival sets up again for two nights three stages at PLYFA.

This year’s curator, Metaman, holding the invisible ribbon that unites Lena Platonos with Eddie Dark, weaves the fabric of a festival open in every sense of the word. It brings together friends and idols or both at the same time, in a line-up several of whose names are accompanied, more or less, by the designation “legendary”, even if some had to do the Paris-Dakar on their knees to see the return of Regressverbot and Victory Collapse.

Somehow, Larry Gus and his unique live performances meet the beats of Dj Pitsouni, the heretical discourse of Lost Bodies meets the nihilism of Dramachine, while the electro-poetic element is omnipresent, from the iconic K. Beta, to Molyneaux, Lalousis and A. Epithetis. Olina and Euripides give a more sensitive perspective to things along with Tropical Geometry who indulge in more pop forms, honoring their kraut origins.

Penny, Dolly Vara and Expe on the other hand, form an explosive trio, each in their own personal way, which comes to be added to Krista Papista and Sci-Fi River who in turn bring to ΑΤΦ24 two of the most enjoyable appearances of AΦΦ23.

Incognito returns from last year’s edition of the festival are also the presences of Echo Tides, Vassilina and Kristof, in a local scene that changes shapes, names and combinations, constantly finding new ways to strengthen its ties and evolve, carrying and delivering the same cross from generation to generation, from the 80s to the present day.

The complete lineup of ΑΤΦΤ24:

K. Beta, Regressverbot, Lena Platonos, Echo Tides, Lost Bodies, Penny+Sci-Fi River, Eddie Dark, Dolly Vara, Krista Papista, Vassilina, Kristof, Larry Gus, Dramachine, Olina, Expe, Evripidis and His Tragedies, Victory Collapse, Molyneaux+Agatha, A. Epitheti, DJ Pitsouni, Tropical Geometry, Stelios Lalousis and Metaman

BOOK-LIKE, EDUCATIVE, EPHEMINE, NOMAD, LAZY, CO-OPERATIVE, POLITICAL

There is this deathly embrace of neoliberal destructiveness all around us. From Evia to Tempi and from Pylos to the daily wage, everything around us is filled with mourning and ugliness. And then there are the everyday resistances, overt and unacknowledged, that make life bearable, often and beautiful. Somewhere in the middle of this tug-of-war is us, who, more than a job, want our relationships to foreshadow a possible future beyond capitalism.

We said, therefore, that it is a good occasion to gather, words, ideas and actions in a two-day festival, in a celebration.

In place of forced association and pre-made behaviors, we counter-propose a swarming with you on the free and festive side of ideas and everyday life. We oppose a swarm of free meetings, of dialogue, of participation.
