Agorafoviko Festival 2026

Four years is a long time.

Wear and decay will come eventually. Fortunately, however, exactly 45 years ago, Lena Platonos and the Sabotage crew had the reassuring wisdom to place “Koperti” just before the end of Side A of the vinyl — rather than at the very end of the record.

In its fourth year, the Agoraphobic Festival will not stray far from the three editions that preceded it. It will take place on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19 at PLYFA, with VASSIŁINA curating the programme across its three stages.

With the festival’s founding principles remaining firmly intact, AFF26 will celebrate the return of Lena Platonos and Pan Pan, drawing a MIDI cable from the CS-60 in the apartment on Leoforos Alexandras to the microKORG of another apartment in Polygono. It will bring together In Trance 95, pioneers of Athenian minimal synth since 1988, the darkwave of Selofan and the polyphonic, electrified songwriting of Usurum with the lighter R&B pop of Aggelina(ς) on the other side of the spectrum.

It will move from Evita Manji’s meticulous sound design to Babynymph’s deconstructed club aesthetic, and from Tso’s queer pop to the avant-pop of Tsugranes and the “Greek trauma” that Fruit Gillette heals with dirty Eurodance. The queer rap of Dolly Vara, alongside Sara ATH, will meet Pandora’s emerging provocation, representing the future of sound.

Finnish-born, Athens-based Jaakko Eino Kalevi and Bhukhurah will reflect the heavy, dark psychedelic drive of Psychedelic Trips to Death, while Yorgas Helmet, carrying with him the historic synth-punk legacy of ΟΔΟΣ 55, will close the first day with drones and ritual.

The Agoraphobic Festival’s tradition of artists making return appearances continues this year with Zebra Tracks, whose indie/post-punk will meet Lewnidas’ distinctive electronic pop in a reunion rooted in the heart of the 2000s. Meanwhile, the dark crooner Johnny Labelle and the dream pop of Blue Morphee will find common ground with Mia Maria’s emotionally charged narratives. Finally, just before its first appearance, Ενδοεπικοινωνία is impossible to describe without the words Outsiders, Daniel Johnston and Κορεσμένοι Υδρογονάνθρακες.

The festival will be brought to a close by curator VASSIŁINA, accompanied by many beloved figures from her journey through avant-garde music.
