STRAIGHT FROM THE BOTTOM music fest 2026
“It’s music to get a brain seizure with…”
One day | One concert | 2 bands |
Experimental sounds from every corner of the world
On February 6, Straight From The Bottom returns and transforms Athens into a living sonic landscape.
A festival that refuses to compromise, pulsates with raw energy, and aims to create an explosion of authentic musical experience.
This year, the festival settles in the industrial multi-space PLYFA, Building 7A, a venue perfectly aligned with its DIY and improvisational spirit.
Concert lineup (in order of appearance):
Hippomaniacs
Hippomaniacs were formed in 2018 and since then have been among the most active Greek acts, with numerous dynamic live performances all over Greece.
Drawing core influences from jazz, blues, 70s funk, and African music, blended with intense psychedelic elements, they have created a distinctive sonic mix based on powerful grooves, improvisation, and a unique atmospheric approach.
This fusion is reflected in their original compositions featured on their debut EP, while they are currently preparing their first full-length album.
Hippomaniacs lineup:
Giannis Kassetas – Tenor & baritone saxophone
Panos Giotis Svobotnik – Electric guitar, FX, synths
Giorgos Kostopoulos – Double bass, electric bass
Leandros Fratnik – Drums
The Halay Lamba
The Halay Lamba were formed in 2014 in Patras.
Their music blends rhythms and melodies from Eastern cultures with beat and groove elements drawn from more contemporary musical movements. The band’s core idea is to create music that reflects the diverse listening backgrounds of its members and their many modern influences.
Oud melodies from the Arab world and Turkey are framed by rich harmonic loops and effects from the electric bass. Traditional rhythmic patterns are transformed into new rhythmic forms, creating a fresh tribal breakbeat sonic environment.
In April 2015, they recorded their debut album, while simultaneously performing at music venues and festivals in various cities in Greece and abroad. Key milestones for the band include their participation in Houdetsi Festival 2016, collaborations with Ross Daly, and two international tours.
They have also participated in events such as:
Kalamata Street Festival – Greece
Houdetsi Festival – Greece
Symviosis Festival – Mytilene, Greece
Xarkis Festival Lofou – Cyprus
Torino Jazz Night – Turin, Italy
Tatonka Festival Fessevillers – France
Fenefest – Lake Doxa, Greece
Gianni Jazz Festival – Greece
In January 2019, the band released their second album.
