The album “Lucid Dream” describes the dream world of a noma. The psychedelic hues of a futuristic metropolis where rhythms change and nothing stays the same for long, are mixed with the dreams of the prefect from a trip to a parallel world full of
tropical islands.
The official first live presentation of the album “Lucid Dream” will take place on Friday, March 3 at PLYFA. The melodic vein of Yiannis Cassetas is well known, as well as his comfort in supporting his melodies with inventive harmony. We meet both of these elements here, as well as a group of experienced and renowned musicians of the Greek jazz community who give
their best selves.
Stella will perform at PLYFA on Saturday, March 4, 2023, in her first long-awaited concert in Athens after the release of her fourth personal album “Up and Away” and after has completed her European tour, which starts on January 15th, with stops in Germany, France and the Netherlands.
The album “Up and Away” was recorded between London and Athens with the English producer Redinho and released in June 2022 on the historic American label Sub Pop! (Record umbrella of Beach House, Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty, Iron & Wine, Washed Out, Weyes Blood among many others).
Known for her “catchy” melodies, with a continuous upward trajectory, rich in collaborations, concerts and festival appearances in Europe and America, following her first international release, with “The Break” (2020) on Canadian Arbutus Records ( TOPS, Sean Nicholas Savage, Grimes, et al.), and with the promising turn in her sound, Stella is now considered one of the most interesting names in the wider indie-pop international scene.
The concert opens with Westerman – born in South London and now a permanent resident of Athens – who was loved by Perfume Genius for his energetic yet mellow alt-pop.
For the second year we are joining forces with friends and partners to create an all-day special event.

LIVE ACTS
CosLee
Combining his great love for guitar and rap, coslee creates a uniquely fresh mix of his favorite genres: conscious hip-hop, lo-fi, jazz/blues. By his side are his super-talented friends and collaborators: Panagiotis Kostopoulos, Iasonas Oikonomou and Kostas Kalatzis.
Bhukhurah
Christos Bekiris aka bhukhurah is an artist / producer based in Athens. Genre bending, a mix of neo-psychedelia, bedroom pop and elements from the entire spectrum of hip hop, filtered through his own perspective.
Working towards his first release, he presents his live performances as a duo, with drummer Pantelis Karasevdas. Their shows are dynamic, interactive, awesomely dreamy and definitely very… cute!
Bangies
The Bangies are a 5-piece Greek hip-hop band that doesn’t sound like a Greek hip-hop band. Neo-soul, funk, jazz and dub are the foundations of their sound and approach. Visual art, physical and electronic instruments, rap, melody and dance beats make up the live experience. Having released their latest work “HOME”, the group has prepared a special audiovisual show!
Spinball will perform at ΠΛΥΦΑ on Sunday, February 12th, 2023 in a live presentation of their third album “Glow” which was recently released on vinyl. They will be joined by Circus Caravan as guests in this presentation.
After a three-year absence, Spinball return to the stage to perform live “Glow” released in autumn 2022 on vinyl by B-Otherside records. In fact, this is the first time the band will play the album’s tracks live since the album’s recordings were completed in June 2021.
Floating in alternative-indie mood, with the psychedelic sound on a lot of parts of the album, the band from the suburbs of Athens is currently in its most conscious phase. The dynamic live performances of Spinball are one of the band’s main characteristics, as well as the choice of alternative venues for their implementation.
Circus Caravan, an alternative rock band from Athens, will perform as an acoustic trio. The band’s first album entitled “Scattered Sketches” was released on May 14th, 2020. A characteristic of the band is that they can change musical style, but with simplicity they keep their character always moving in the context of the alternative sound.
“Sotiria’s Songs”, the musical show dedicated to the “Princess of Rebetiko” that stood out and was etched in the memory of those who watched it, is being staged again, in a special place! The show, a production of the Athens Festival, began its run in the summer of 2021 with four sold out nights at Stecki tou Ilia in Thissio and was repeated with similar success in November of the same year at the Hamam music stage in Petralona. This time, Christina Maxouri and four exceptional folk musicians set up their stage at PLYFA (Korytsas 39, Votanikos) and invite us on another journey through the life and songs of Sotiria Bellou, from February 6 and every Monday, for 10 performances.
“Sotiria’s Songs” go beyond the boundaries of the stage and stage and move between the theatrical performance and the musical evening. In an almost overwhelming atmosphere, Christina Maxouri, an actress and performer herself, introduces us to the world of Bellou with her characteristic, Doric voice. She performs favorite songs that Bellou stamped with her voice and between them she tells us short stories and short incidents from the life of the unsurpassed performer. The goals of Tsitsanis, Papaioannou, Mitsakis, Kaldaras, Savvopoulos, Moutsis, Andriopoulos and Lagios are intertwined with testimonies about Bellos’ life, through her own words and those of people who knew her. And yet the performance does not have the character or the purpose of biography, but the disposition to create an atmosphere of celebration. A shared experience where we all share stories and songs and come closer.
Christina Maxouri, one of the most characteristic and remarkable voices of the younger generation, breathes new life into the songs of Sotiria today. It has often been mentioned that Maxouri’s voice, her metal, but also the way she “presses” the words have something from Bellou. Nevertheless, she interprets the songs in her own way, since as she says, “in these songs my soul finds its center again”. Together with Dimitris Haliotis, they have done the research and signed the artistic supervision of the show.
Favorite songs performed by Bellou and etched in the history of Greek music, such as Wandering Life, You don’t talk, I turn like an outcast, Don’t cry, I said to erase the old ones, The mountains are chanting, Don’t run away from me anymore, With planes and steamships , and many more, come alive again in the show, in a simple yet meaningful way. A wooden stage, a female voice and four musicians: Thodoris Xintaris (bouzouki, voice), Dimitris Koufogiorgos (bouzouki), Vassilis Prodromou (guitar, voice) and Dimitris Koustas (accordion).
Cold. Night.
The first. Cold, which screams warmth.
The power of moments.
// a primitive performance from the future //
Raw Memories.
// eerie live synths and electronics //
Vibration of the Senses.
// reflections and visuals //
of an inner reality,
that draws momentum,
from the collision of shadow and light.
One, or none, world.
